SHOE CARE
How can you keep the creations from the Odda Gallery looking their very best? Their leather, nylon, fabric and mesh fabrics deserve to be cared for in a way that reflects their uniqueness.
General cleaning
Keep them clean by using a soft brush or a damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. Remember to avoid harsh chemicals that could upset the balance of the leather.
Preserving the color
To keep their colour alive, you can apply shoe polish in the colour of your shoes or a colourless product. When it has dried, remove it with a brush to give it shine and, if you want to enhance the effect, clean them with a soft, dry cloth.
Nourish your materials
Like all works of art, your leather trainers also need to be nurtured. Do this two or three times a year to prevent them from cracking or losing their lustre.
Avoid exposure to water
Just like a canvas or a painting, you should avoid getting your trainers wet. If they do, dry them in a naturally, away from direct heat.
Storage
When your trainers are not on show, remember to store them in a cool, dry space that preserves their beauty.
Surface cleaning
Shake them gently to remove any traces of dust and rub the surface with a soft bristle brush or damp cloth.
Washing by hand
For a more thorough clean, wash them by hand with warm water and a mild detergent. You can also soak them in a mixture of water, baking soda and neutral soap, apply to the fabrics and leave it to work. You can rub gently with a light brush or cloth to remove stains, avoiding using harsh detergents that may damage the material.
Natural drying
As a final step, air dry naturally. Avoid exposing them to direct sunlight or heat sources such as hair dryers, as this may warp or damage the nylon.
Additional care
Avoid rubbing and scratching when walking on rough surfaces, and remember to store them in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or damp environments.
